After lunch yesterday, some friends and I decided to watch a movie. Luckily our theater gets movies in a bit late and keeps them in later, so we could still watch Kick-Ass 2. It was quite a while since I watch the first one, being that I watched it in while it was in the theaters as well, but I remember enjoying it quite a bit. So I was pretty excited to finally watch this one. Most people seem pretty apprehensive about sequels, but luckily this in my opinion was one of the good ones.
It follows Kick-Ass of course, and Hit Girl, we will refer to as Chloe. The movie ups the ante from the last one from a couple of heroes fighting crime lords, to a team of heroes, fighting someone trying to start up super villainy (and some crime bosses as well.) The action was still great, but the story was just as fun, it definitely became emotional at times, but then it came back around with "Mother Russia" reversing a cop car with a lawn mower on it into one with a couple of cops in it.
In my opinion this movie was pretty great. I give it 8 out of 10 Cats.

Getaway
I had the pleasure of watching Getaway tonight, and since I haven't talked about movies in a while I thought I would share a bit of my experience. To start I would like to say I went into the movie knowing it was not my thing, but keeping that in mind it was a fun movie.
The basis of the movie actually reminds me of playing GTA (3 I believe) when I was younger. A person doing missions while driving really fast to avoid cops, and a lot of car crashes happening. But this movie coming out around the same time as V is probably a coincidence (wonk*).
Viewing the movie that way, I had just as much fun with the movie as I did with GTA when I was younger, even though it was not my cup of tea or something like that. The constant high speed chases, with the protagonist almost never getting caught, coupled with the special effects and fun technology being used in the film, really made watching it fun.
One could also bring the story in to this, I mean it did have one. (TW Spoilers maybe?) The main character Brent I believe, finds out that his wife is missing, he magically receives instructions to steal a car (I was getting a refill), then he was told to rampage about town while avoiding cops, or his wife would be killed. Then Selena Gomez as "The Kid" magically appears in the car with him (I was in the bathroom), and they were made to do things culminating in a digital bank robbery. It all being quite complex, but it does seem to leave room for a sequel. I am not going to go to far into story, but like I said earlier the fun thing is it did have one, in between the pretty much constant car/explosion action.
In short, it was a fun movie. : o ) : o ) : o ) : o ) : o ( 4 Smilin' Clowns out of 5 (This may be a rating system I will start using, but probably not.

Wreck it Ralph
Sorry about not updating in quite a while, not really much to speak of but last night my friends and I watched Disney's Wreck it Ralph. The movie was tons of fun and a great laugh. The movie was set in an arcade in which the characters of the machines could interact with each other and leave their own machine through the electrical wires and meet up in Game Central Station. The movie focuses on the "Bad Guy" of the game Fix it Felix Jr. Ralph. After 30 years he is fed up of living alone in the dump and being treated badly by the citizens of his game. He sets off to prove himself by winning a hero's medal. After leaving his game he meets up with many game's characters and ends up saving the arcade from something he partially started. The movie was filled with many laughs as well as tearful moments. I think that it was a really good movie and Disney still has it in them. Maybe it was all the video game references like the use of the Konami code, but it was a really fun movie to watch. The music was really fun too with a lot of original music by Henry Jackman who has also done music for movies like Monsters vs. Aliens and Puss in Boots. I am also really looking forward to trying out some of the related games they seem pretty cool.

Frankenweenie
Tonight I had the pleasure to see Frankenweenie with my family, it was quite a fun movie. It was a movie with funny, sad, and suspenseful parts. The movie was in black and white, which I thoroughly enjoyed, it had nice music that highlighted the suspense in the parts of intense science. References to the original are plenty, including the most obvious, the kid's name being Victor Frankenstein, and references to movie versions like the hair of Sparky's love interest. I think it is quite a good movie and seems to be quite successful which is kind of funny granted the controversy over the original Frankenweenie.
